Nawel 1 The most disturbing about the Manduka yoga mat is the smell. I have used this mat for 2 years now, and the plastic/rubber-like smell would not dissappear, although I went aggressive on trying to get rid of it in the beginning (washed it with several kinds of detergents to no avail). Worse yet, after a yoga session the smell sticks on one's skin, and only a serious hot shower scrubbing can remove it (simply washing my hands with soap would only make the smell worse). What makes things more difficult for me is my sweaty hands and feet, this not only makes it slippery, but the smell would stick more strongly on my skin. After 2 years of troubles, I am thinking changing it now. Expensive and troublesome, I do not recommend it.
